St. Louis v FC Cincinnati - Player Ratings

Player ratings for the 2-1 victory in Saint Louis, a match that saw us switch to a 442 with Omar Cummings as the pivot for the attack to play around. Some really good stuff including a great pressing mentality but a defensive lapse while cruising lost Mitch his clean sheet. Check out my ratings, add your own, and comment on what you saw! (FYI I rate a standard performance with some good and bad about a 6.5)

1: K - Mitch Hildebrandt - 90' - Had a decently quiet game, only being called to make routine saves. Should have come off his line or called out for the STL goal. - 7

3: LB - Tyler Polak - 83' - Stayed home a bit more in the new formation but still took some nice corners and free kicks. Got turned for the STL goal and was taken off shortly after. - 7

15: RB - Pat McManbun - 90' - Still keeping his role as an all-action fullback. Lost possession from time to time but was very quick to track back. Solid. Ended up with a yellow after a rash challenge after taking a couple kicks in possession. - YC - 8

4: CB - Harrison Delbridge - 60' - Solid until his 61' minute yellow. Was taken off for the Captain. - YC - 7

8: CB - Paul Nicholson - 90' - Very patient on the ball and knew when to push up into the midfield to press. Also at fault for the STL goal, he checks his run when tracking back or he would have had it. - 6.5

6: CM - Kenney Walker - 90' - Looked really good with Bone in a more challenging two man midfield. Had a stellar block in the 39' minute. A touch at fault for not stopping the STL cross for their goal. - 7.5

19: CM - Corben Bone - 90' - He made everything tick in his box to box role and had an excellent free kick in the 69' minute. - YC - 8

18: RM - Omar Mohamed - 75' - I really like this kid's work. He ran his socks off in the press and was quick to track back on the wing. Some errant shooting and offsides. Promising. - 8

20: LM - Jimmy Mac - 90' - Consistently playing well on a weekly basis. Good with the ball at his feet and drew fouls in dangerous areas. Forced a really good save that almost made it 3-nil in the 80'. - 8.5

14: CF - Omar Cummings - 90' - Almost every good thing that FCC did in this game came off the feet of Omar. Got an assist and a goal but should have had a couple more assists. Could be accused of being a bit too elaborate at times but him in the Bergkamp role with Okoli and the two wingers playing off him is electric. - ⚽ A - 9.5

9: CF - Ugo Okoli - 67' - Very good. Got the assist for the first goal but wasn't getting much love from the referee (he could have tried to stay up a bit harder). His relationship is still developing with Omar and that showed in the couple of flick ons from the Jamaican that Ugo didn't quite anticipate. - A - 8

Substitutes

22: CB - Astin Berry - 30' - Again solid. Came on to shore up the defense after the Aussie's yellow. Didn't have a ton of involvement. - 6.5

23: RW - Andrew Wiedeman - 23' - Came on in place of Okoli when FCC was trying to close the game out. - 6.5

10: AM - Eric Stevenson - 15' - Gave the assist to Omar's shot that the keeper spilled. Followed up for the tap in. - ⚽ - 8

24: LB - Derek Luke - 7' - Came in at the very end after the STL goal. - NR
